Caring for your hair under the sun!

Hello! Welcome back to the Sabor Blog!
Our hair isn’t as excited to spend a day at the beach or pool as we are! However, I have some advises to help you mitigate the damage caused by the exposure to the sun and sea salt!
Sabor tips and tricks:
1. Apply a UV Protective Spray
One of the main causes of dry hair is the exposure to UV sun rays. We suggest to always spritz your hair with a UV protectant spray before arriving and during your stay at the beach. If you have dyed hair, this spray will also protect your color. It is easy to find as you can buy in any beauty or pharmacy shop, or it can also be homemade.
2. Apply Coconut Oil
Applying a generous amount of virgin coconut oil to your dry strands is a must when spending a day at the beach. (Try to do this at least 1 hour before you arrive.) A good idea is to take it with you and apply it after you go for a swim. The reason we recommend coconut is because it is the only oil small enough to penetrate the shaft, giving your hair the most protection.
3. Leave The Conditioner On Your Tips
If you are the type of person that always goes for a swim in the ocean, you can apply a leave-in conditioner. This way, your hair will absorb the conditioner instead of the chlorine or salt from the ocean water.

4. Go Easy On Styling
If you routinely style with products or heat, we recommend giving your hair a break the day before and the one after you go to the beach. The heat and buildup can damage and dry hair out on their own. You probably won't want to exacerbate the problem by exposing your hair to the sun all day as well.
5. Wear A Hat (...and stay fashionable)
Wearing a hat to the beach will not only protect your face from sunburn but will protect your hair and scalp from receiving the UV sun rays directly. And more importantly, it is very stylish!
